Open Call: Proposals for Public Life

In early 2017, Gehl Institute invited community design organizations to apply to its Open Call program: Proposals for Public Life. The program was designed to offer trainings on how to use our public life tools, and provided up to $10,000 to execute and evaluate a public space project.

Urban95: Cities for Young Children

Gehl Institute, along with Gehl, are collaborating with the Bernard van Leer Foundation on its Urban95 initiative, which focuses on enhancing everyday public spaces for young children (ages 0-5) and their caretakers.

We prototyped a set of tools to identify where social mixing is happening, and the types of design and programming cues that invite these interactions.
